This story may not have anything to do with animals, but we hope it will inspire our young Malaysians who love animals, to do something similar too (for street animals!).
Mastura Mohd Rashid is the founder of the Nasi Lemak Project, a soup kitchen that distributes food to the homeless in Brickfields, Ampang, and Chow Kit on Fridays.
“I never knew even knew about the award until my nomination in April,” Mastura told The Malaysian Insider.
“I guess it is due to the independent nature of Nasi Lemak Project, and the fact that it is an initiative fronted by youths.”
The Muhammad Ali Humanitarian Awards, named after the legendary American former professional boxer, is given in recognition of the efforts of people from around the world who make a difference in their communities and beyond.
