Ginger’s appetite

Ginger’s appetite seems to be stable for now, under the new medications. He still eats by himself, which I’m truly thankful for, even though he can only eat small amounts at a time. So I offer him food every hour or whenever he “tells” me that he wants to eat. It is all about reading his body language and facial expression.

Being interested in food and able to eat on his own is really good.

He gets a lot of time indoors too.

Tabs sometimes goes out to the catio too. Here’s our two seniors eating together.

Tabs has been on palliative care for more than two years now. She has polycystic kidney disease which is a genetic condition and has no cure. Ginger’s medical issue is the progression of the FIV, which also has no cure. Both are on daily subcut with their respective medication. We opted for comfort care for them; nothing invasive or aggressive.
