URGENTLY looking for a loving family to adopt my 7-8 yr old pure breed English Cocker Spaniel, or she will be EUTHANISED at PAWS on 8 December 09 (my mum has booked her in)
I unexpectedly moved to New Zealand about 6 years ago and my mum has been looking after her, but mum is also coming to NZ soon and she hasn’t managed to rehome her, hence her decision to put her to sleep Being so far away, there’s nothing much I can do so I’m hoping a kind soul will read this forum thread.
She has some ongoing skin problems and is using special shampoo and eating diet-specific Eukanuba food. She needs to be kept preferably indoors as excessive exposure to heat aggravates her skin. (We currently have her outdoor enclosure specific to her needs – with an awning and ceiling fan that is turned on if she is left outside). Her new family must be prepared to provide her needs. I am not trying to be fussy or picky, but it is ESSENTIAL that this is made known to her future family. Perhaps someone who is better versed with dogs versus my mother who doesn’t really have the time nor knowledge to deal with dog issues.
We feel that if we can’t find someone is prepared to care for her that it will be better to put her down, rather than let her suffer without the proper diet, environment and care she needs
She is up PURELY FOR ADOPTION, but with the PREREQUISITE that her family understands her needs and are prepared to meet them. It saddens me thoroughly to have to give her up, but if this thread finds someone who will be kind to her, I will be so grateful. It will be better than putting her to sleep.
If you think you can be her new family, please contact me urgently BEFORE 8 DECEMBER 2009 so I can save her precious little life.
I don’t think we are allowed to provide our personal email address on this forum (I am new to this forum), but I will be watching this thread with hope for any response. She is in Subang Jaya, and I will arrange for my mum to meet you and speak to you if you are interested to see if she is suitable for you, and vice versa.

Yes she’s trained etc. her only problem is she’s got sensitive skin that don’t like heat so has to be indoor most time.
sigh… hopefully can rehome her before the 8 Dec deadline 🙁

Pls ask your mum to call me Anna @012-3157841. I am in Subang as well. If my poodle accepts her, I will take her. Is she house trained? I work in the day and leave my dog to roam the house so it is important for her to be house trained.

Hi Anna, lovely to speak to you. Mum will give you a ring later today. Megan is house trained but occasionally have accidents. This probably happened coz mum isn’t very good with dogs. She is sweet natured but can be stubborn at times. With some patience and a firm hand, she will soon learn your house rules – as all dogs will need to in different households. See how it goes with the meeting of owners and dogs, and do feel free to contact me if you have any queries I may be able to help with.
Should the adoption be successful, I request that I be able to visit her and her new family when I get back to Malaysia for holidays.

Hi. Your post has caused a lot of problems for Paws which has been inundated with calls about Megan. The biggest problem being that Megan was never there and Paws had no records or details about her.
Why did you drag Paws into this adoption matter when Megan was not at Paws and never was at Paws? Furthermore, you claimed that Paws would euthanise your dog by the 8th of December if she were not adopted. How could you say this when it was not true? YOUR DOG, MEGAN WAS NOT AT PAWS AND NEVER WAS THERE.
You are irresponsible for claiming that Paws would euthanise your dog and for what reason? To emotionally blackmail people so that you could be rid of Megan faster?
Paws has had to deal with a lot of angry phone calls from people who accused them of refusing to allow them adopt Megan as well as other irrational accusations – all on the basis of your post.
Next time you want to get a dog adopted, please don’t drag innocent animal welfare organisations into your schemes and besmirch their good names with untruths and false deadlines that you’ve made up in your head. Your dog is not the only one in this world that needs help and by your actions, you have jeopadised the work of Paws and other animal welfare organisations that help dogs at genuine risk of euthanisation.

FOR EVERYONE’S INFORMATION;
MEGAN WAS NEVER BROUGHT TO PAWS AND WAS NEVER DECIDED BY ANYONE IN PAWS THAT SHE WOULD BE PUT DOWN ON 8TH DECEMBER.
THIS POST HAS CAUSED SOME ANGRY ADOPTERS CALLING PAWS AND SOME OF ITS VOLUNTEERS. PLEASE DONT PUT UP POST THAT ARE NOT ACCURATE.

So sorry to hear about the Angry adopters calling PAWS & its volunteers, there is some misunderstanding in my friends post, Michelle dint make it clear that her mum was going to send Megan on the 8th and not that Megan was in PAWS. 🙁 so sorry.
She was in a rush to post up the adoption online before her mum migrates too, she never wanted to euthanize megan and was trying to get adopters as her mum does not know what to do except to put megan down. Ill contact her on her mobile to remind her to update as the last time i spoke to her, she told me her internet is down.

I’m sorry to hear about ppl scolding PAWS. Imo they should learn to read posts carefully, it was stated clearly that the dog would be sent to PAWS to be euthanized (by the owners mother) as the dog required a lot of care, and they did not want it to go to someone who wouldnt care for her as she needs.

Dear all,
I’m terribly sorry if I have given impression that PAWS is untrue to their work. I admire and respect all volunteers for the welfare of animals and would surely not condemn your good works. I really meant that if Megan was not adopted by the 8th Dec, Megan would be sent to PAWS to be put down – thus my urgency to get her rehomed before then
PLEASE, I WOULD LIKE TO CLARIFY – MEGAN NEVER ENDED UP IN PAWS
With much appreciation to this wonderful forum, Anna has now adopted Megan and my beautiful girl is in a loving home now.

shes at the boarding centre now as the new owner went overseas.
