Terry needs blood tests done before neutering (Jennifer SL Leong’s)

Jennifer SL Leong wrote in to apply for sponsorship for Terry’s neutering in December 2011.

Previously, we had just subsidsed Terry’s dental procedure.

Since the application was made in December, we had pledged to sponsor Terry’s neutering then, but it was not done until now.

This time round, we will still pay and Jennifer has agreed to re-donate RM20 back into our fund to help the next animal.

However, when Terry was brought to the vet’s this morning, our vet said Terry is an old dog (estimated to be at least 7 years old) and since he just had surgery for his dental cleaning, it would be better if blood tests were done before the neutering.

Since this is recommended by our vet, we will sponsor all of it.

So, blood was taken today, the results will be known tomorrow, and if all goes well, Terry will be neutered next week since the vets are going on leave during the CNY period.

We will sponsor all and we thank Jennifer for her donation.

It really does not matter how much rescuers re-donate back into our fund. As long as it is done with heart, we appreciate it very much.

Jennifer has taken Terry back now and will bring him back to the vet’s next week.

I adopted an old stray cat (est 14 yrs old) a year ago which had ulcer and gingivitis in her mouth. Vet gave predisolone, which i wasn’t keen on as it has side effects.I did some research on holistic treatment and tried cod liver oil on my elderly cat. I gave her cod liver oil daily and rub the oil on her gums to reduce inflamation as it is also soothing. When I took her to another vet, she confirmed that the gums are healthy and no ulcers.
Perhaps Jennifer would like to try this even after the dental surgery.
