Help needed to catch an injured cat (Michelle Ng Lai Kit’s)

If you are able to help Michelle catch this cat, please contact her directly at her email below. The cat’s injury looks serious and needs medical attention immediately. We have advised Michelle to try to trap the cat as well.

Normally we always place food at the garden area of my house for my
cats and stray cats to feed on. Being such, we have this fierce stray
cat that usually come over in morning and evening for food, maybe 3-4
times in a week. However, recently he has this small injury on his
face. We tried to put on medication but he’s too fierce and we are
unable to apply any medication. This injury has somehow became larger
and worsen. We did try to catch to send to the vet for treatment but
he’s quite fierce making us scare to go near him.

We would like to find some help, if anyone could give a hand to catch
him and put him in a cage to send to the vet. We do not mind paying
for the vet fee. We are just very worried for this poor cat.

We are staying in USJ 1. We do hope someone nearby can help us catch
and put him in cage.

I caught a fierce stray cat that had mange by putting good irrestable cat food in a cage and tied a
string to the cage door. When the cat walked into the cage, I tugged on the string (must be fast) to close the
door with him inside. I did it again when I wanted to vaccinate him after he recovered from his mange but this time using an animal carrier. The carrier is better cause it is narrow enough for him not to turn around quickly to escape. I can just close the carrier door and brought the cat directly to the vet. Hope this will work for you too. Good Luck.

I do agree with May Lee. Put out a cage and place a cardboard/plastic board on the floor of the cage to give the cat a firm footing. Then place his food plate in the cage and he will eventually go in and eat his food in there. Go on for a few days and the cat will grow used to the cage. Then it is very easy for you to just come along and latch the cage door and take the whole cage with the cat in it to the vet. It worked for me many times with stray cats. Hope it works for you too.

Thank you for your advises. The problem is that when we put the food in the cage, the other cats around would enter, as we have seven other cats including strays. The fierce, defensive cat would stay away from the rest.
But we will definitely try again tomorrow morning. Thank you!
