Dear Dr Chan,
It has been a while since my last email on Polkadot’s story.
From her critical conditions & a ‘slim’ chance to survive,
I am pleased to inform that Polkadot is now in a much better condition & she is able to stand up.
However, she is not walking that well yet. Still unstable.
I have discharged her from vet today. A home care will be better for her.
She still does not allow me to touch her on certain places so I will take one step at a time.
It must be painful for her still.
Doctor has provided another 7 days of medication (liver & antibiotic).
Attached herewith all copies of her receipts, itemized bill , medication & her latest pictures.
Her both front legs must be so sore since vet had to be used it to put drips & medication via injections.
I will give her much needed TLC for her to recover.
I will do what I can & the best that I can with my own cats’ conditions.
Vet mentioned that I have done the right/good thing for Polkadot & that simple statement make my day.
FYI, there might be further tests needed ie blood test/Xray if necessary.
She only eats wet food. Not sure whether she can take solid food yet. She did not touch any kibbles during hospitalisation or home.
When she is fully recover, will need to vaccine & spay her. The plan is to find her an adopter since it will be dangerous for her to be released at the same place she was rescued.
I will post all receipts & itemized bill tomorrow via pos express (photocopy with vet signatures & vet’s stamped).
Thank you for your kindness & to all donors’ for the much needed medical support assistance.
Regards,
Marina Mustapha

The total bill is RM500 and Marina has requested for more subsidy. She has also applied to PetFinder.my and PetFinder.my informed us that they have already raised 50%, which is RM250 for this case. We will discuss with Marina further and come up with an acceptable sum to help.

Updates: Peggy Tiong has contributed RM102 to this case. With our subsidy of RM148, the total subsidy is now RM250, which means Marina will be receiving 100% sponsorship from PetFinder.my and AnimalCare. We now await the form and receipts.

    She is a Pole-look-alike!

Not exactly…ha ha. She looks more innocent than steely-eyed Pole!

Not quite, but she does have the same eyes! 😀

Yes, Pole can look innocent sometimes with those adorable eyes! But sometimes, Pole can be as cold as steel too!

Marina, I agree with the vet, you certainly have done the right thing. Polkadot would not have survived without you.

Thanks Peggy.Word cannot express how happy I am with her current conditions.

Dr Chan, Managed to feed her medication by scruffing her neck.It does not work mixing medication with wet food.
She won’t eat it . I’m so glad she did not show any “anger” towards me afterwards 🙂

Some cats are very sensitive and cat smell out the medication in the food no matter how you hide or mask it. For such cats, you may have to pill them separately. Hold scruff of neck, tilt head back, plop pill into mouth, pushing pill towards throat, close mouth, rub head vigorously until cat’s tongue comes out (which indicates cat has swallowed pill unless smart cat hides pill in mouth and spits it out later). Easier said than done, but it works with some cats. Not all.
