Sometimes it rains…

It was very sad for us when Randy passed away last night.  I spoke to Dr Koh this afternoon about Randy.  He said it could have been due to a viral infection, possibly even Parvo-virus.  Randy appeared to be a little better in the afternoon, but took a turn for the worst by late evening.

I have advised Angela, the fosterer, to monitor the other brother and the moment he shows any signs of being ill, it would be good to bring him to the vet for immediate treatment.

The mortality rate of young kittens is very high.  Once ill, they go down very fast.

Then, Lisan text to say they lost Fido yesterday.  It seems they had let Fido and Nino to play in the garden, but somehow Fido went missing.  Whei Meng went looking for Fido all day, but could not locate him.

Again, our advice is, when dealing with very young kittens, please confine them.  If the cat is an adult and get lost, at least it can look after itself and its chances of survival are higher.

Some adults may even choose to run away if it is not happy or comfortable in our home, but that’s its choice.  But with young kittens, I feel it is better to confine them until at least 4-5 months.

We hope Fido will return when hungry, or Whei Meng will be able to find him.

Meanwhile, Lisan has taken Nino back to her apartment and is watching her closely.
