One more cat spayed

This is a stray cat brought in by Jean who lives in PJ, a few days ago.

The cat has been spayed at our panel vet, and rescuer, Jean, paid for the surgery, too.  We are very grateful that Jean has offered to pay for the procedure.  Then we can utilise our funds to help another animal in need or a rescuer who is not so financially well-off.

Over in Singapore, I hear there is a cat welfare organisation which has a panel of vets to provide spaying-neutering services for strays at a discount, but this welfare organisation does NOT sponsor the procedure.  The rescuers pay for it themselves.

When I first started AnimalCare, I too had wanted to adopt a similar model.  I did not want to handle money, but we were advised that it may be a “bit difficult” with our society, because the awareness and willingness may not be as strong…yet.  So we were advised to have a fund.  Also, Malaysians are very generous with money-donations (this is a fact!).

But we are glad there are people like Jean who is not only willing to do to the work, but also willing to pay for it.

Kudos to Jean and Viva la CNRM!

Meanwhile, we will continue funding cases of spay-neuter of strays.  If the rescuer is able to chip in a small donation, it would be much appreciated so that we replenish our funds in order to continue our work, and help more animals and their rescuers.

P.S. I was told there is a “Datin” who might want to use our funds, and also another rescuer who drives a Mercedes Benz and lives in a luxurious condo.  Well, I’ll have to thicken my skin and ASK for a donation, no matter how small.  We’ll see how it goes… (please wish me luck on this!).  Whatever happens, the bottom line is this: WE ARE HERE TO HELP THE ANIMALS, and ultimately, we are doing this for the animals and NOT for the humans.

P.P.S.  Please pray the Datin won’t come to us.  I’m sure she can afford it herself!
