Here’s more updates on the Taman Tun rescued dog who survived an accident and is now due to be discharged.
Upon further investigation by the rescuer (interviewing the residents in Taman Tun area), this dog may have been abandoned. He has been loitering around the mosque at Taman Tun for some time already, and is often chased away.
The accident happened a few days ago and he had been lying motionless for many days before two kindhearted gentlemen saw him and picked him up. They sent him to the shelter, which, as usual, opted to euthanise him, but the two gentlemen objected.
That was how the dog was brought to the vet for treatment. He was in a dying condition when he was brought in, and was found to be suffering from severe liver trauma (probably due to days of being neglected after the accident). But he is now fit to be discharged.
As of now, the two gentlemen have put up 10 posters near the mosque area. We doubt the “owner” would respond since we suspect he has been abandoned, but we’d never know, so let’s hope for the best.
The rescuer will go to Taman Tun again today, and ask the residents if they know anything about this dog.
On our part, I will be visiting the dog today, and will arrange to settle the bill for his treatment. We will also need a fosterer and adopter for the dog in the event that we cannot find his owner.
