According to Yen’s neighbour, this morning a lorry came to the spot where the old Labrador had been sleeping in, and after that, he was gone.
We got very worried if the neighbours had contacted DBKL and the lorry had come to take him away.
To cut a long story short, one lady from Taiping has now offered to adopt the Labrador. Another good samaritan has called DBKL to enquire about the dog, but there is no news at this time if DBKL has indeed captured the dog.
We’ll just have to wait until tomorrow when the good samaritan goes down to DBKL and get the dog, if he is there.
We can only hope for the following:
1. The dog has recovered and has actually made its way home, and is not captured by DBKL.
2. DBKL has captured the dog, and (please pray that) the dog is still alive and well. Tomorrow, the kind samaritan can retrieve the dog from DBKL and the Taiping friend would be able to adopt him.
We hope for Option (1), failing which Option (2) is not so bad.
We prefer to think positive at this point in time because there’s no point thinking of anything worse.
Please help radiate positive energy to the dog.
AnimalCare will sponsor any medical needed by the dog, There is, unfortunately, nothing much more we can do now because we really have no dog-fosterer.
On hindsight, could we also plead and appeal to people to be more tolerant of stray animals and not resort to calling the authorities too quickly? The authorities only have one way of dealing with the problem – capture and kill.
Do we want to be an accomplice to the killing of these innocent, helpless and homeless (or lost) animals? I plead to these people to put themselves in place of the animal. If your child is lost, would you want your child to be captured and killed? Stray animals, young or old, are as helpless as young children. They cannot fend for themselves. Please do not be so quick in calling in the authorities.
