Updates on the fivesome

I went to visit the fivesome at our vet’s today.

From our vet’s evaluation, the fittest of all is….Perky!

Imagine, when we brought her back, she was literally dying.  The shelter manager told me not to be surprised if by the time we came back from Bentong, she would have already died.
We pumped her with chicken and chicken soup every day at the shelter.
So, here’s Perky now.  As Perky as ever.  I thank each day that they are all alive and well.  The vet said she is no longer emaciated, and indeed, I can see she has filled up quite nicely.  No more skin and bones.  I don’t mind (still) feeding her chicken daily as all five of them are so near to me now, but the vet says no.  I trust the vet knows best.
The vet also said Perky should be fit for vaccination soon.  Then, she’s all ready to be adopted.  Any takers?  She’s a lovely little small-sized dog.  And oh-so-friendly.
And the fantastic thing is that today, she polished up all her dry food.  The vet had told us not to pamper them with chicken anymore.  He would train them to eat dry food.  Well, he did it, in just one day.  (Let’s see if it lasts!)
Sweetie is a bit down today.  She has not eaten the dry food, but she’s still wagging her tail though she prefers to curl up.
Wendy looks a lot better and the diarrhoea has stopped.
Russell is fine.
And, Jackie responded to my call today!!  She stood up and came towards me when I called her!  That’s a HUGE improvement.  The vet still needs to clean the pus from her eye wound.  Her appetite is good, as usual.
(The photos above were not taken today.  I did not bring my camera as I went straight after work.  Jackie has already put on some weight now.)
On a separate note, we are very concerned about the dogs up at LLLP.  According to Meiji, the females are doing fine but not the males.  This is strange because the females were spayed (without vaccination) while the males were vaccinated.  Two males have died so far.  I have reported this to SPCA’s Dr Lim and we will be arranging a trip down to see for ourselves the condition of the dogs.  If need be, we will bring the sick ones back for treatment.
