I have just received an urgent appeal from a friend. Apparently, three puppies were rescued by a lady in Gua Musang, one of them injured. The three puppies were doing well although the injured one is now slightly disabled.
Unfortunately, all three puppies were tested positive for distemper. This kind lady did not know much about distemper, and an animal rescuer (from one of the organisations) had come in to “assist”. This animal rescuer insisted that the two puppies (who looked perfectly healthy and were actually running around) be put down.
The two poor puppies were then put down.
I am aghast at what this animal rescuer had done. Surely, being an experienced dog-lover, she would know puppies stand a very good chance at recovering from distemper.
Now, the animal rescuer is insisting that the third puppy be put down as well. My friend is appealing for someone to foster this third puppy so that he/she can be saved.
