Updates on Wendy and Tara

From Ainey’s visit today:

Wendy is still the same, she doesn’t look too good… her twitchings broke my heart… she just laid in her cage, but she did wag her tail… i talked to her again, told her to get well soon… Dr Liu said Wendy’s appetite is good, so that’s something to be happy about…

Tara is her happy self again… she stood up in her cage and i pat her, told her she’s a good girl and that she will be going home very soon… the vets said Tara could be discharged with medication, but they will take her temperature and do a check just to confirm… they will call you if Tara could go home…

For those who are following our story for the first time, please note that Wendy and Tara both have been diagnosed with distemper and tick fever and are presently being treated for both diseases.

Distemper is NOT a death sentence and there is no reason to have the dog put down.  Many local breeds have successfully recovered from distemper because of their own strong immune system and proper medical treatment.

Three of our rescued dogs from the Klang Dog Pound has distemper – Wendy, Tara and Sean.

Sean is now fit and healthy (though we still do not know if there may be a relapse later – nobody knows this).

Sean and my mother
He is a bundle of energy and pure joy!
What matters is that we give them a fighting chance and not opt of the “easiest way out” – to have them put down.
All lives are precious.
Please spead the word that distemper is NOT a death sentence to any dog.
Every dog deserves a chance to be treated.
