Kwai Chee’s remaining puppy

As I’ve written this morning, one of the two puppies brought from Raub passed away this morning.  The other one seems to be doing fine.

Here’s a report from Mandy:

I received sad news from MDDB’s caretaker this morning that one of the two mixed schnauzer brought in for treatment by Kwai Chee had died this morning. It was tested positive for parvo and therefore we decided to keep it in Klang so that daily medications and injections can be administered at the local clinic. I was told by the caretaker that the black schnauzer (the one tested positive with parvo) had blood in it’s faeces and it wasn’t moving much also the night before when he went to check on him. I think the disease must have been a full blown one.

Besides that, I think another contributing factor leading to it’s death could also be from infections on it’s tail. According to Kwai Chee people tied rubber bands around it’s tail in a way to cut off the tail so that it will look better without a tail. When rescued by Kwai Chee she took off the rubber bands and although the tail is not severed it has caused some damaged on the nerves since it’s not able to lift it’s tail and wag like a normal dog.

However, the good news is the remaining schnauzer is healthy and had a good appetite. I went to check on it this morning after receiving the news that the other one had died. Here are some of the photos of the mixed schnauzer. She’s quite active as she’s moving about in the cage and judging from it’s well-formed poo, I think she must be in good shape. Anyway, the pup which died has been buried by MDDB’s caretaker.

Get well soon, little one.
We hope the little one who had passed away went peacefully knowing that he had friends who cared about him till the end.
