We sure can do with some happy stories today.
I don’t know if you remember, but some time last year, we rehomed Cucu, a Norwegian Forest look-alike. Cucu’s minder (a Filipino helper) finished her contract and left for home, and there was no one to look after Cucu anymore. Her owner, Lilian, asked if I could find a good home for Cucu because Cucu was actually the helper’s pet. If I remember correctly, Cucu was about 7-8 years old then.

Cucu rehomed!
So, how is Cucu doing now?
Well, read on, please.
An update from Sharon, Cucu’s new owner:
Chu Chu loves to hunt. To date she has killed numerous roaches and lizards, Roaches she would share with us but not lizards which she enjoyed crunching.
She has chosen one of my soft and thick wool socks as her prized catch. Every morning, she would bring it out of of her room and start meowing (like those wild cats bringing back their catch for their young in the NGEO programs, calling them out from their hideouts to feast), then looking about and placed it next to anyone of us. Sometimes she would lie next to it as though waiting for her young.
Every morning she wakes up first. She will either be at my room door waiting or at the bottom of the stairs. The minute I open my door she would dash up the stairs and rub all over my legs purring. Then she will wait for me to hand feed her and she will not eat from her saucer unless she knows that I am busy. According to my children, she will eat on her own when she knows I am still asleep.
Each time I do my gardening she would lie by the door (gauzed) waiting for me to finish. She has not step out of house before and she doesn’t seem interested. Anyway, we are still very careful and really cannot afford to lose her.
Still remember the first few days of her arrival…….she was cautious and only came out of her hideout to feed. We kept our distance and gave her time and space to slowly bond with us……sigh. Now she is the princess of the household with my kids showering her with lots of hugs and kisses.
Lilian, many thanks again for her. She brings so much joy to our family.
She gets to sleep wherever she likes in the house.
See…
Cucu wants to study SPM Physics too.
Everybody dotes on Cucu.
Cucu watching Ice Age 3 with the family.
Ahh…this is the life!
In the course of our work, we have managed to rehome several “elderly” pets. So, it is possible. Don’t give up.
Always try.
