Cheering Wendy on…!! (3rd reiki session)

I reached the clinic earlier today, before Trevor arrived, so I had some time alone with Wendy.

When I opened the door, she was asleep, so I called her name.  Immediately, she wagged her tail excitedly and tried to get up.

Wow…this was really encouraging!  I noticed a well-wisher had fed her this morning as there were remnants of chicken in her food bowl.  So, I cleaned up her bowls and talked to her.  Wendy sat up and seemed to enjoy the company.

Today, I brought her some sardines, just for a change of menu.  At first, she was a bit suspicious of the taste, but soon, lapped up almost every bit of it.

It’s fish, Wendy.  Try it.
Hmm…strange taste, but quite nice…
There is definitely some improvement in Wendy’s condition today.  She seemed much more cheerful and in control.  I laid my hands on her while talking to her, telling her that she is going to get better very soon.
After some time, Trevor arrived, and he too was very happy to see the improvement in Wendy.
Hi Wendy!  You feeling better today?
Trevor started to do some healing on Wendy, but he sensed rejection on her part.  Trevor said this could be due to two things:
(1) Wendy has been receiving quite a bit of healing for the past two days and is undergoing “cleansing” which can be quite unpleasant (I think we call it the “healing crisis” – you have to get worse to get better?).  It is also the body getting rid of toxins, I suppose.
(2) Wendy already feels better, so she knows she doesn’t need the healing at this point in time.  Animals are very much in touch with themselves and nature, and they know what they need and what they want.  We have to respect that.
Sensing this, Trevor did not force the healing on Wendy, but instead sat near her.  He said reiki can be transmitted just by sitting and being near (and also from far distances as well).
We sat for quite a long time, and Wendy sat as well.  So it was three people (I use “people” for animals as well) sitting near, but I could sense a very positive atmosphere in the (bath)room.  Wendy seemed very comfortable as well, and after some time, got up to eat a second helping of chicken.  Her appetite was very good today.
Later, Trevor asked if I’d like to take Wendy for a walk.
So I carried Wendy downstairs and took her out to the sun for awhile (the sun energy is very healing).  Then, I placed her on the five-foot way and waited for her to decide what she would want to do.
Wendy got up and walked!

Good girl, Wendy!
I held the leash while Trevor walked beside her and we cheered her on.
Wendy walked the entire length of the shoplot and then headed back to the clinic.  I did not need to pull her at all.  She was leading me all the way.  When she reached the clinic door, she nudged it, trying to open the door.  However, she walked very slowly, stumbled a little, and was still ataxic.  Still, every step is an achievement.
Since Wendy decided she wanted to go back, I carried her back upstairs.  I placed her on the floor and she went back into the bathroom, but not before taking a short detour to sniff at the fridge!  Or, did she land up there because she was ataxic, I’m really not sure.
I guess she felt more comfortable inside her cage, so she went back inside, drank some water and sat down.  Then, she ate again!

After Wendy had settled, I suggested to Trevor that perhaps she wanted healing now, so he tried, and she accepted it.  But not on the head.  Just on the body and the base of the spine.  Whenever Trevor touched her head, she would straighten up and shake his hand off.  Ok, Wendy, you don’t need healing there.  Just on the body then.  The crown chakra is ok?  You decide, Wendy.  You know best.
This is one tough-spirited cookie, and she knows what she wants.
Doing healing at the base of the spinal (the survival instinct).  Wendy accepted this.
And…another round of food!  Even I don’t have such good appetite!
We spent close to two hours with Wendy today, and I could feel much positivity in today’s session.  I’m not sure, but I don’t think there was much physical healing today since Wendy felt she did not want so much energy transmitted to her, but what helped was the friendly and caring atmosphere exuded all around her.  I felt very comfortable, and I think Wendy did too.  And the wonderful thing is that anyone can give that to Wendy.  You don’t have to be a master reiki healer.  Just visit, and spend some time with her.  She seems to like that very much.
All of us at AnimalCare would like to thank Trevor, our dedicated and most compassionate reiki master, for coming all the way to heal Wendy, for three days in a row.  May he be blessed for his kindness, and may all beings be well and happy.
We only have moments and as long as we give our very best in every moment of our life, that moment would have been well-spent and worth living.
Get well soon, Wendy!  We’re all rooting for you, near and far.
