Sweetie goes to the fosterer’s home

Dayani and Purna, a young couple, have offered since last week to foster one of our female dogs.  Dayani first said they would take care of Jackie, but since Yi Lin was taking care of her already, I suggested Sweetie.

Today, we discharged Sweetie and brought her to Dayani and Purna’s house.

Sweetie, all ready to go, at the clinic.
Dayani and their dog, Mitra.
Mitra is a huge dog, weighing about 50kg, and is only 14 months old.  Dayani and Purna adopted him from a friend.  Mitra looks incredibly healthy with a very shiny black coat and the surprising thing is, Mitra is vegetarian, by choice.  Dayani and Purna, who are also both vegetarians, said they have bought chicken for Mitra, but he refused to eat it.  He now eats only vegetarian kibbles.  He even eats just rice and beans.  From his size and his robustness, it comes as a surprise.  Mitra, the all-compassionate dog who refuses to eat meat.
The vegetarian dog, not by force, but by his own choice.
That’s Purna, on the right.
Sweetie’s cage is placed between Mitra’s kennel (which Purna and Dayani built themselves) and the wall so that it’s confined and isolated.  Sweetie still has TVT and mange, but according to the vet, the TVT is almost all gone now.  We will continue the treatment for her while she is being fostered.
Sweetie, looking happy, as always.
Sweetie is estimated to be about 5 years old.  She is spayed and vaccinated.
We thank Dayani and Purna very much for fostering Sweetie and giving her lots of love.  Sweetie has fought so many battles and has proven to be a (sweet) survivor.  She is one of our Klang Dog Pound survivors, and not only did she survive the pound, but also TVT, tick fever, Coccidia and now mange.  She has come through it all shining like a little star, smiling ever so sweetly, and had never been down and out.  We think she is a real tough cookie.  And, certainly a very happy one at that.

Take me home, please?
