What we can offer

I have been swarmed with phonecalls, emails and smses almost on a daily basis by people asking for help.  Very often (and I don’t blame them), many people misunderstand thinking that AnimalCare is a shelter and we are often asked to rescue and pick up animals from the street.  Sometimes we are asked to take over a litter of kittens or puppies, or an old dog or cat.

But we are not a shelter and we do not have fosterers save for ourselves.  Hence, what we can do is limited and we need to work with others who can provide what we cannot.

To set the record straight, here’s what we can offer to the public and the animals:

1. Provide free spay-neuter for strays and newly-rescued animals (please ensure the female animal is NOT pregnant).
2. Subsidise medical treatments for strays and newly-rescued animals.
3. Educate the public on CNRM and compassion towards animals through public talks, this blog and free books.
4. Advertise rescued animals for adoption. But we encourage you to use www.petfinder.my  We do not do adoption drives due to lack of humanpower.
5. Advertise your requests for help (missing pets, looking for fosterers, etc.)

I wish we could do more, but all our volunteers work fulltime and we are indeed an extremely small group.  But small can be beautiful, so we will continue doing all we can to help the animals in our own capacity.

There have also been quite a number of people offering their services as volunteers.  We welcome your help very much.  Please keep up with our news on the blog, and please do offer whenever you are free to help out.  Any form of help you can provide on a case-by-case basis is most appreciated.

If you’d like to work together with us on any particular case, please contact me at chankahyein@gmail.com
