Maggie (the cat) underwent surgery for diaphragmatic hernia yesterday, and is now showing very good signs of recovery.
I just got off the phone with the vet, and he says Maggie is one of the most impressive cases he had ever dealt with, especially when the chances of the surgery were 50:50. He also said Maggie had been hurt really bad because from the surgery, they found that her liver and rib tissue were actually torn.
However, right after the surgery, Maggie started breathing on her own, and is now showing very encouraging signs of recovery. We are just waiting for her to eat on her own, and when that happens, she can already be discharged.
Monitoring will have to be until tonight for the crtical 24-hour period in which anything might still happen. So, let us all pray for the best for Maggie.
