Updates on Orange the Cat

It has been almost a month since I first highlighted the plight of Orange (the Cat).  Orange was rescued by Shahila Shaifful.

He was diagnosed with a bad wound on the head (found later to be cancerous), a broken jaw, a non-functioning kidney and blocked bladder tubes.  Orange was also suspected to be a victim of an accident, and he had made his way to Shahila’s house for shelter.  Shahila brought him to the vet and surgeries were performed to rectify the problems that Orange had.

On her own, Shahila has finally managed to find a fosterer for Orange.  Yesterday, Orange was discharged and is with the fosterer now.  According to the vet, Orange’s kidneys are functioning well.  His appetite is also very good.  However, the cancerous wound on his head might spread in time to come.

The total bill for Orange came up to more than RM2000, but the vet has reduced it to RM1400.  Shahila managed to raise some funds on her own, and we have also given a contribution to help her out with the bill.

Shahila is only a student, and she is using her own pocket money to settle the balance of the bill.  Although we had promised to help her with our funds as early as the first week itself, Shahila said she would endeavour to raise some funds before approaching us again.  Her efforts and sincerity are commendable in one so young.

In the spirit of Hari Raya, if you would like to help Shahila with Orange’s bill, please contact her directly at sha_honey5566@yahoo.com  You may also request a copy of the scanned bill from Shahila for verification, if you wish.

We wish Shahila and Orange “Selamat Hari Raya”, and may Shahila be blessed manifold for her kindness in seeing Orange through his predicament.
