The two poor little newborn (orphaned) kittens didn’t make it….
We tried, but the universe decides. So, we shall be at peace with its decision.
Here’s yesterday’s updates from CP:
Afternoon updates:
Su called me from the vet around 7pm. The last surviving kitten didn’t make it either- sad – may they rest in peace.
MiMi’s coming home – dear Su has given her a bath and cleaned her ears, and she’ll be de-wormed before coming home anytime now. And the good news – the lump is just an enlarged gland which is nothing to worry about. We just have to be careful not to press the lump as it might cause her some pain.
I had some problems with my email this afternoon so I couldn’t email u the photos of MiMi feeding the kitten. Will try to download the photos into my home pc and email u later.
**I couldn’t answer your email earlier on whether i want MiMi back after her *job* is done and the answer is Yes, we already miss her lots 🙂 We planned to visit her at Su Ching’s place earlier as we were worried she might not cooperate (which was confirmed by Su – 2 persons need to hold her down while Su held the kitten for her milk) but now that she’s coming home, we’ll wait for her. DiDi is at my porch now waiting for her too 🙂

Evening updates:
A nice smelling MiMi came back an hour plus ago 🙂 My younger boy has learnt the tricks of rubbing her and carrying her so we should have no problem taking her to the vet for spaying – however since she’s just finished breast-feeding, we’ll need to wait a while. Dear Su had her nails clipped too. She helped me to de-worm another stray, Manja, who loves MiMi’s nice smelling body – my boy told me he’ll try to bathe Manja tomorrow. However, DiDi, who saw MiMi taken away by Su was very wary, and ran before Su could go near him. So we’ll have to try to de-worm him another time – Su gave me some de-worm tablet for him.
She warned me that Manja might be pregnant, as what we have suspected. She looks big at her tummy and she’s eating a lot. She’s suggested that we send her to the Vet for a check and spay if she’s not pregnant. We’ll take one at a time coz tomorrow Lim won’t be around to help and I can’t handle the cats alone.

Well, we must instead thank CP and her family for looking after Didi, Mimi, and now, Manja, and maybe even another tomcat whom we’ve nicknamed “Bully” (for obvious reason!). From a family who previously did not know much about cats, they are now keen to help out in CNRM of the strays around their house!
Now this is exactly what our third mission is all about – providing the education, the support and the sharing of experience that is so needed.
We’ll be sponsoring the spay-neuter of all the cats that CP and her family are able to catch around their house.
May the two kittens be in a happier place now.
