We're doing a BLACK tshirt, after all!!

I wrote this posting below this morning thinking that I will only announce it when I have the mock-up for the black version, but I’ve been thronged with so many emails all afternoon asking for the black, I might as well just publish the posting now!

Here goes:

I know we made a decision a few days ago that we would not be producing a black tshirt for our new design, but I’ve received emails from (especially) the younger people saying they would really, really want one.

Coincidentally, my parents said they would also like to partially sponsor the printing of our next batch so that I’d have enough tshirts to sell the whole year round since our fund-raising is ongoing (our work is ongoing!).

So, I’ve decided we will produce a black tshirt after all, and it will be done in loving memory of little Vixey, my Piggy-Vix, the all-compassionate pygmy cat whom I picked up from the rubbish heap with brother, Wii, when she was hardly one month old.

Vixey lived a full life of 2 years before she passed on of premature organ degeneration. She was a “retarded” cat and the vets had told me she would not live very long. However, during this time, she helped me nurse all the little kittens/cats I brought back to foster and this includes Indy, Kimba, Creamie and Crackers, Joanie, Suki and few others who were on transit.

Vixey survived a brain trauma. It was really touch-and-go.

Wii looked after Vixey.

Vixey was a pygmy cat. Look at the difference in their size after a few months.

Everyone loved and pampered Vixey.

Cow and Bunny never ever bullied her!

Indy was rescued from the drain with multiple life-threatening infections.

Vixey nursed Indy and brought him up.

Vixey shared her space with Joanie, a rescued cat who survived obstructed labour.

Vixey looked after Kimba as well.

Vixey was little Suki’s “god-mother”.

Vixey passed away on World Animal Day, 4th October, 2009.

In memory of what a great cat she was in her short lifespan of 2 years, don’t you think we should produce something in remembrance of little Piggy-Vix?
