I visited Lilac yesterday.
She was lying very still with her chin down and it looked a little worrying, but the moment I called her name, she mewed! She knows her name (well, remember, she was someone’s pet before).
I called her three times, and she answered each time.
Gosh…that really melted my heart completely.
Lilac was also sitting on her chest already, so that was a good sign.
I’ve checked with both our vets, recovery is usually very good in these cases.
Lilac….
Mew…(she replies)
The wound looks good also.
Eh…who is this?
Oh, it’s Amber!
Amber is, as always, as happy as a lark. This would be Day Two after her first TVT jab. She’s still as happy as ever. But of course, her appetite has not been too good (a common side-effect of the chemotherapy jab).
Mary and her friends went to feed Amber later, and she did eat some of the cooked chicken. That’s good enough for now.
The main thing is, we hope to see shrinkage of the tumour in the next 1-2 weeks. Then, we’ll know if the chemo is working.
Meanwhile, be happy, Amber….oh wait, you already are!
You know, Amber seems to have the “right attitude” to life: Be happy, no matter what!
Looking at her, I recall the words of my late Chief Reverend when he was sick towards the last years of his life : When the body is sick, do not let the mind be sick as well.
Amber seems to know this well?
:)) (Don’t humanise animals, KY! Ok, ok…)
Get well soon, Lilac and Amber!
