The cat with Faucitis

Faucitis?

That’s the first time I hear of this medical jargon.

It means infection of the fauces (inside of the mouth).

That’s what Amy Thum’s rescued mama-cat has.

Poor thing…it must be VERY painful.

The treatment is to go under sedation, extract the bad teeth (already decayed) and inject steroids into the multiple 5-cent size boils inside the mouth.

There are multiple causes for faucitis – it could be due to AIDS or leukemia or even flea-related infection.

Hopefully, this first treatment will bring some relief to the mama-cat and she can eat again.

Mama-cat’s treatment is sponsored from our funds.

Updates: The teeth were not extracted because they were still good.  So, only the injections were administered.
