While I was at my friend’s house visiting Courage, I was also helping Norshidah arrange for the burial of Ben. Nor said it cannot be cremation, and only wanted burial. I called James Kho and managed to arrange for burial today, at RM150. James went to the clinic immediately and collected the remains of Ben. Nor took care of the burial charges.
After visiting Courage, I went back to Subang Jaya to the clinic and the vet showed me Ben’s test results. He was not FIV or FeLV positive. The wounds were also sporotrichosis.
But here is what probably killed him:
The maximum reading for a normal animal should be 7 but Ben’s was 70.4! The vet said any animal with such readings could not possibly be still alive. The results are shocking.
So, Ben was severely diabetic.
We would never know what caused it, but a possible hypothesis is that poisoning could have caused pancreatitis which led to insufficient insulin, hence, diabetes.
Norshidah did say Ben escaped once during the last two weeks.
We’ll never really know now.
We wish Ben a better life in his next existence.
This is the plight of street animals.
Please CNRM.
We subsidised RM181 for Ben’s medical bill.
