Dear Dr. Chan,I would like to ask for help if there is any fosterer who is kind
enough to care for a mother and 4 newborn kittens.I do not have any experience in caring for the mother and her
newborns.Plus there is a community cat which I have been feeding, I fear that
she will harm them.I hope to hear from you as soon..

John just needs a safe place for this mum to nurse her kittens, especially with the other cat lurking around. If you can help, please contact John directly.
For first-time fosterers:
1. Confine the mother and her babies. It can be in a room, or even the porch or the sheltered backyard of the house (where it is safe from the lurky cat). It can also be in a large cage.
2. Place a litter box (for the mother) and place towels to keep her and her babies warm.
3. Feed the mum kitten-food for better nutrition. Always have fresh water available.
4. The mum will take care of the kittens.
It isn’t difficult to look after a mother with her babies. Just look after the mother. She will look after the babies. Mother-animals usually know what to do.
