Karat is the male cats rescued by Shaidatul yesterday when she noticed someone had tied a string (suspected to be hair rubber band) around Karat’s testicles. A long story cut short, Karat was sent to the vet today, he has been neutered and he is now back home under the loving care of Shaidatul.

Hi Kah Yein,

Finally Karat is home.  I think the surgery went well.  When I went to pick him up this evening, I didn’t manage to see the nice vet so I couldn’t ask her anything.
However Karat was bleeding a bit & the vet’s assistant ask me to put collar on him so that he won’t lick his wound.  I am new to this, as I have never neuter my cats before.  Spayed, yes but not neuter. This is also my first time seeing how the balls look like after a surgery.
Karat was also given flea medication & dewormed according to the assistant. No medication was also given for the bleeding but according to the assistant the bleeding will stop in a week.:-/ confused I have some surgical wound medication provided by the Jabatan Haiwan so I guess I will use this on him.
Anyway Karat is active and “kicking” and trying his luck getting out from his cage.  He has been eating & drinking well & wondering what happened to his balls 8-| rolling eyes & why he is being kept in a cage.
Will provide you photos ASAP as I my camera’s battery “konk” & is being recharged.
FYI in the bill, you will find grooming charged.  No worries I will cover this as Karat was really dirty before the surgery with car’s oil & whatsnot.
So I will be claiming for the neuter & I will cover the surplus myself.  I’ll send the form with the original receipt latest in 2 days’ time.
Thank your for the prayers & assistance.  Let’s hope Karat will be well soon.  Till later.
Regards,
Shaidatul
