Ven Sonam and Ven Karma Tashi have three more adopted cats (who have been adopted for more than 1 year) in need of medical treatment. As per our policy, we cannot subsidise for adopted animals (above 1 year), but if you would like to help the two venerables with the bills for these bigger cats, their contacts are:
wangmo.sonam@gmail.com and karma.tashi.choedron@gmail.com. The venerables are nuns, so they have no income of their own.
Please write to them directly if you are able to help them.

Subject: Re: Pet Adoption Help
To: Chan Kah Yein <chankahyein@gmail.com>Dear Dr. Chan Kah Yein,Good day to you. Hope you are well and happy always. I am writing an email to you today to thank you for your help in putting the kittens for adoption in your blog. The response was very fast from the people. The very next day people came forward and the two rusty colours (females) were adopted on 8th July and the other two males, Black and white and Orange and white were supposed to be adopted on 8th as well. But the black and white was not so well and we extended the adption to 15th. But again he was very ill and he was hospitalized on 9th for three nights and four days and came back well and healthy on 12th. He collasped again on 15 and passed away on 16th at 5.30 pm.After that the orange and white and one of our big cat developed fever and we took them to the vet on 17th. On 18th evening orange kitten stopped eating and he had a very high fever. So on 19th we took him to UPM and he was admitted and the next day during our visit hour we went to see him. He was very serious as he was losing his temperature and was in incubator. we were there with him for an hour and half chanting and at the end of our chant and time for us to leave he breathed his last breath peacefully. Since our big cat was still liturgy and not so good appitite we took him and the other two big cats to UPM for check up on 23rd. We found one had anemic and is under antibiotic and the big one which had fever also had some problem and he is on antibiotic too. The third one is still fine and healthy. This past two weeks plus we had a tough time and we spent pur time running to hospital and vet. Anyway we did our best to save them and we are still doing to save the remaining cats. But since both I and Ven Karma are nuns and we have no income, we would like to request from your Animal Care to help us reimburse the cost of their bording in hospitals and their medications. We also spent a lot for the petrol but this we take us our dana to our furkids. We can send you the original bills/receipt for all these. We really would appreciate it as it is quite steep and we are unable to pay. We have debts to pay the bank as we used Ven. Karma’s credit card.I will be leaving the country on 29th sunday for my fieldwork. Please email to my Ven Sister Karma and cc to me. I included her email id with this email.Thank you so much for your consideration and anticipation. Hope we will be able to help many as we do and did this past few weeks.Warm mettaVen Sonam

Subject: Claims for Furkids Medical Bill
To: Chan Kah Yein <chankahyein@gmail.com>Dear Dr. Chan Kah Yein,
Good evening. I hope this email finds you and your family in good health. I refer to Ven.Sonam’s email regarding reimbursement for our cats medical treatment. I thank you for your kind gesture in helping us to subsidise the cost of the hefty medical bills incurred for our two deceased kittens.I am sorry for the delay in writing to you. Actually, Ven.Sonam was writing to you all along and then she left for Bhutan as she has to do her fieldwork. I was supposed to follow-up 10 days sooner but I too fell ill with very high fever, flu etc. I just managed to muster the strength today to write to you.I am writing to claim for 2 kittens. The kittens are Dawa and Nyima who unfortunately passed away due to virus. Their total bills amount to RM856.90.Our big cat Rinzin, is recovering well from flu. Rinzin had to undergo blood tests to rule out virus. Two other big cats, Gakyi and Chucky, were also ill and required medical treatment. The total bills for the big cats is RM468.30.Ven.Sonam and I would like to thank you and all kind sponsors for your kind heartedness in helping us nuns to help the street cats to get medical attention as well as lead a decent life and also die in peaceful and loving conditions with the utmost dignity. Mere words cannot thank you enough for your kind support and understanding for our lack of ability to pay for the medical bills. Sadhux3. Thank you.warm regards,Ven.Karma

Subject: Re: appeal to the readers?
To: Chan Kah Yein <chankahyein@gmail.com>Dear Dr.Chan,Thank you for your email and for your kind thoughts in wanting to help us with our bigger cats through a appeal to your readers. Two of them are sick now and I have just sent one to the clinic yesterday and will send the other later this morning. The doctors are suspecting either worms or blood parasite for one of them (Gakyi) who had blood in her stool and also looks pale. She looks better today after starting treatment. Rinzin became weak and lethargic yesterday evening and stopped eating this morning. He has been going to the toilet many times to defecate but he seems to be struggling. I will take him to the nearby clinic at 11am when it opens. What puzzles me is that both have been dewormed just 3 weeks ago and I always keep a lookout for fleas and they are always indoors. II would be extremely grateful if you could put up the appeal for funds for the big cats as their treatment is still ongoing and I am not sure how much more treatment they need in the near future. I am ok with your putting up the appeal in your blog.I will post the bills for Nyima and Dawa after I send Rinzin to the clinic this morning.Thank you for your patience and kind understanding.warm regards,Ven.KarmaPhotos of the big cats:
