Dear Dr Chan

I’m Azimah. Not sure if you remember me but I really need help with regard to Intan (a kitten I recently rescued from Giant Batu Caves. Been trying to rehome her without success. About 2 weeks ago, another of my newly rescued Kaboo-Kaboo was suddenly taken ill. Immediately took her to a newly opened vet close by as it was already 10 pm by the time we got home from work &  were advised to leave her overnight at the clinic to be supervised . She deteriorated & we took her to another vet the next day but it was too late by then. We lost Kaboo-Kaboo, she was about 4 months old. All in I ended paying almost Rm400 for her hospitalization etc. Some days later, the newly rescued Intan was taken ill & we had her warded. She had already completely stopped eating/drinking for 4 days & bleeding from the mouth on the 4th day. Vet suspected she had been fed or accidently consumed something poisonous & her liver was swollen & was very weak. It was a 50/50 chance according to vet. Intan was put on drips etc & after 4 days, she started eating & drinking on her own. Now she’s at home & on medication & I am also feeding her with goat’s milk as she also has jaundice. But her medical bill is RM400 & I told the vet I am only able to settle it at the end of the month.  I will download Intan’s latest photo tmrw and get details of treatment if Animalcare is able to extend help. Please, I am desperate.

Thank you Dr Chan

azimah

Note from the vet, on 28th November 2012:

The cat was discharged on 28/11/12. Is bright and alert, reduced yellowness, is eating normally and ABV is normal.

We also received a two-page report from the vet describing all treatment administered.
