Our CNY red & pink tshirt sale begins on a truly joyful note! (Thank you, Mudita Buddhist Society)

Mudita means JOY. Or more correctly, “Altruistic Joy”.

We wish to thank the Mudita Buddhist Society for inviting us to open a booth at their New Year dinner this evening.

The day started off with me giving a talk about AnimalCare’s work at the Ti-Ratana Community Centre Penchala. From there, I got home just in time to to head off to Klang for Mudita’s New Year dinner.

Connie came over, we loaded our stuff into her car and off we went to Klang.

Setting up.

Here’s Connie and me with the Mudita ladies – my old friends and “Old is Gold”.
Don’t they look chic in black?

Even before we could set up our tshirt rack and display our merchandise, our Mudita friends were already lining up to buy our stuff! Such great support – thank you so much! Connie and I were kept busy with the sales, hence, no photos! And it was just the two of us manning the booth too.

With Chinese New Year around the corner, red is certainly IN.

The children from our table had gone off to play the games organised by the emcees.
The food was vegetarian – simple and nice.

 Lucky draw!

This lady (in green) is amazing. Although nobody has ever told her about CNRM, she has been doing it on her own all these years with her own savings. She looks after the community dogs in her area, gets the puppies adopted and whenever she can, she gets the dogs neutered, all with her own funds. She takes the sick dogs for medical treatment as well and she feeds them chicken and rice. In total, she has helped about 200 dogs over many years, but vet bills really take a toll on her. Now that she knows about our fund, she is most welcome to apply for our subsidies. I hope she will get her children to write to us. She only speaks Chinese and is not internet-savvy. What an amazing lady! She has a heart of gold.

Just a few words to thank the audience for their very kind and generous support, and also to let them know that our funds are open to anyone who wishes to do rescue and caregiving work for the strays.

We had a great time this evening and our tshirt sale has indeed started off on a roaring and joyful note (soap, toothpaste and keychains too)!

Once again, thank you very much, Mudita Buddhist Society!!

Our next event will be on 12th January at Ohana’s Adoption Drive. We hope to see you there!

These two handsome young men are Chee Onn and Daniel – the designers of our very first Gold tshirt.

Come get our red (and pink) tshirts, folks!
It’s Chinese New Year – bring in the prosperity! Go RED!!
