Mdm Eng Geok Bee feeds the street dogs in Broga and Semenyih. Recently, she was introduced to us by a reader who requested dogfood on her behalf. I have spoken to Mdm Eng on the phone and we have fully sponsored RM375 worth of dogfood for her dogs. The brand is Combo Dogfood (20kg), which is Mdm Eng’s choice.

Attached are the photos of Mdm Eng Geok Bee. She is feeds stray dogs in Broga and Semenyih area. She helps to rescue and send dogs for neutering as well. With her health condition, we try not to give her too much to do but she really enjoys doing it when her husband is not around. She is not working and is taking care of 6 sickly dogs at home. All her dogs are either paralysed, with cancer and other sickness. She loves dogs so much to the extent of selling off her jewellery to pay for their medical and food. Now she is looking after a no ear dog which is boarding and the poor dog is making so much of noise , she spent hrs sitting inside the playpen feeding and playing with the dog. She even wants to take the dog with her while she goes on rounds of feeding until the shop close then she will bring back the dog just to avoid the dog from making noise and affecting people’s business. I stopped her from doing that as she has many ailments and is not in good health.
I have spoken to Mdm Eng several times on the phone and she told me all about her dog-feeding and rescue work. We had planned a visit to her place this week but her request for dogfood and medical subsidy for 3 dogs appear to be a one-off request, so the visit was cancelled. Nevertheless, we will honour our word in helping her with the 3 medical bills if she applies for our subsidy.
I have also urged Mdm Eng to get as many as possible of the dogs neutered and we will subsidise the bills as long as our policy requirements are fulfilled. However, Mdm Eng says that catching the dogs is a big problem. Most of the dogs that she feeds are feral and they do not trust humans.
