Dear Dr Chan,I would like to request a medical subsidy  for a poor abandoned pet (now a stray) which I named Cherry Berry.Cherry looked like someone else pet when first she popped up at my backyard. So, I asked my nearby neighbours around but no one claimed that is their pet. But i did hear from my neighbour’s kid that Cherry is an abandoned pet. I have to tell the truth what I know about this poor cat because I do not want to betray your trust and violate the animal fund.

Cherry has been wandering and popping up for food at my house compound since two years ago. She is a loner. She lives her own world. However, it is a pity that Cherry has been suffering EGD. Her gum is swollen and now she is getting worse. I have brought her twice to the vet years ago but no further the treatment due to her on and off presence. Just recently I notice that her right face swells and i decided to take her back to the vet this morning.

The vet told me that her condition is bad. The growth is getting bigger that cause swelling face. Due to such condition, the vet has given her two shots- which one of them was steroid to lessen her pain.  The vet decided to run the blood test to check her kidney condition before they can proceed with surgery in order to remove the growth. For the mean time, she is given 4 days antibiotic. She will be going through further treatment after getting the bloodwork result.

For your review, I attached the itemised bill because I do not know whether such procedure can be subsidized or not. As an applicant, I am bound to medical subsidy terms and conditions.

I attach Cherry photos for your record. Tq dr for your kind consideration.

Dear Dr Chan,

Thank you for the medical subsidy for cherry berry.

I am going to use this subsidy for her next treatment on Friday, 12/3/2013. Cherry blood result seems suggested that she is the carrier of corona virus. I pray that the virus shall never mutate which can lead to FIP disease and enormous suffering to her.  In addition, the vet advised  to go for FIV test as well. Regarding the growth in her mouth, the vet said the steroid treatment may help to reduce or retard the growth. I do hope so. God willing, I make sure that Cherry Berry will be taken care and have better life for as long as she lives.

I truly appreciate your support in my life journey to help street and abandoned animals. God bless you.

Regards,
Azura
