Subject: Found in Klang: female Cocker Spaniel – Brown with white fur on head
To: chankahyein@gmail.comDear Dr.Chan,
My mother rescued this female cocker spaniel who fell into a drain nearby our house and was crying for help. I think she was in there for a few hours before mum heard her. According to neighbours, apparently she has been spotted wandering aimlessly around the neighbourhood recently. She looks old, brown with white curly fur on her forehead. We fed her and gave her a bath. But she still smells really really bad (worse than blue cheese) which I suspect could be due to a severe ear infection and skin infection as she keeps scratching her ears and chewing her paws. Also, the skin below her neck/chest have odd dark patches and without fur. Her left eye appears to have some problem as well. Lastly, she doesn’t seem to respond to well, so I am unsure if it’s a problem with her sight or hearing or if she is just shy.I’m not sure if she was lost or abandoned and I have no idea what the next best course of action is. I have also been asking around if anyone would like to adopt a cocker spaniel in case we cannot find her owner. Either way, I do feel sorry for the poor dog and I think she needs to see a vet soon. I have called the nearest vet to inquire if anyone reported a missing cocker spaniel and have also asked if the vet would provide some assistance to this dog. No definite response yet. Could I please apply for your medical treatment subsidy in the mean time? Would also appreciate any advice regarding the dog.Found in Taman Berkeley, Klang.Regards,Liang Shih Ping
We have reverted to Ms Liang on what else she could do for the dog. We will also subsidise the medical bill of this dog as per our policy, especially if treatment is needed for its condition.
If you would like to adopt this dog, please contact Ms Liang directly.
