Medical subsidy for Orix, rescued cat from Kulim (Nor Aimi Izzati bt Mohd Nor’s)

Hi Dr Chan,

It’s me again. I noticed that you’ve already put up a post about the three cats (Siti, Milo and Orix) that you help subsidized their neuter operation. Thanks a lot for your help. I really appreciate it.

Siti and Milo are doing well. But, I have a bad news about Orix. He’s  been vomiting, not eating and drinking for the past two days. At first I thought, it was because the antibiotic that he was on. But the vomiting continue until this morning so I took him to the vet today. The vet suspects that he might have FPV due to high fever and other symptoms. He is also very dehydrated. The vet put him on a drip and gave him  two shots before sending him home with more medicines. The picture attached is him receiving the iv drip. Now, he is at home in a cage and have to be forced fed which is very challenging. I got scratches all over my hand trying to give him meds and foods even after wrapping him with a towel. But i noticed that he already start drinking water after coming back from the clinic. Hope that is a good sign and will update you more about him.

I was hoping if I could apply Medical Subsidy for this case. The treatment cost is RM65.

If can, I will post the form and receipt to you.

Hi Dr Chan,

First of all, thank you for your help. Here’s a little update about Orix. I’ve been force feeding him for 3 days now and noticed that he had a bit jaundice until yesterday. This morning he look a little healthier and eating on his own but very little (see photo).  He also start grooming himself again and has been meowing begging me to let him out. I guess he is getting better. He still has watery stool though. Will monitor him some more and update you again.

I will post you the Medical Subsidy Form and the receipt to you via pos ekspress today.
