Updates on Ongsan, the cat from Ms Kyi (Maslinda Abd Talib’s)

Since no one could take over Ongsan, the cat whom Ms Kyi (Mie Mie) had requested help for, I asked Maslinda if she could help and bless her kind heart, Maslinda agreed. Arrangements were made to catch Ongsan (Maslinda has given me the liberty of naming the male cat) and after some initial difficulty, Maslinda managed to get Ongsan yesterday.

We had initially offered Ms Kyi our medical subsidy. Ms Kyi then brought Ongsan to the vet, but she decided not to proceed with the treatment as the vet advised that treatment would be prolonged. Ms Kyi said there was no point in proceeding even when we offered a full (100%) sponsorship. Being a foreign worker, she does not have the resources to help this cat.

Maslinda has now taken over Ongsan and our 100% sponsorship stands (50% from our Medical Fund, 50% from Angel Inc.).

Today, Ongsan was brought to the vet’s for a diagnosis and the prognosis is grave. The vet said there was not much that could be done for Ongsan and suggested euthanasia. Maslinda will approach another vet tomorrow. We have given 3 recommendations and we hope something can be done to save Ongsan’s life.

There is no charge for today’s consultation.

Mie Mie’s cat

took the cat today and brought to vet. the cats look bloated and from initial checks, he was jaundiced, enlarged liver and has no appetite. his nose is swollen, signs either from tumor or sporo

sample from the nose is taken for test (results not yet received as at now). will wait for the results before deciding on what to do. most probably will get 2nd, 3rd, 4th opinion until i’m satisfied with the explanation and course of action/treatment (other than the proposed put to sleep option)

the cat is alert, little bit weak or maybe dehydrated coz he’s not eating well lately (according to rescuer). have force fed him with glucose and little bit of A/D

will send him to another vet tomorrow and update on his progress

feel free to name him coz i always have no idea on naming cats
