Hi Dr Chan,

My name is Celia Chin. I run a small factory in Kampung Bahru Sg Buloh and currently have 8 dogs, almost all which are rescued from the street. There are two males and the rest are females. I have castrated the two males as I couldn’t afford to spay all the females. However, problem arises as the many stray dogs outside my factory, some which we feed, will hang outside when the females come on heat. I was referred to your website by a friend, and have read your policy on neutering subsidy.
I would like to seek neutering subsidy for five of my rescued female dogs as well as for some of the strays that i feed. As I couldn’t find a home for them, they have been at my factory since. After neutering, if I can rehome them, I will do so. Otherwise, they can stay on at my factory. Attached are their photos and herewith their story:
a, b) Daisy and Minnie, 6 months – these two siblings were rescued by a friend in Klang when they were just around a month old. There were three siblings but only these two survived. She has asked my help to foster them and they have since stayed on at my factory. These two pups look alike but they can be differentiated from the black markings on their tongue.
c) Cookie 1.5 years old _ a friend of mine found her as a puppy almost dying on a roadside in Bentong. Again I have cared for her as I felt sorry for her and she is healthy and strong now.
d)  Beannie 4 years old _ she was rescued from a market nearby my factory about two years ago. She was weak and fragile, and we had taken her in out of pity. I had wanted to put her back at the market after she recovered but decided to hold on as she is very good natured.
e) Brandy 3 years old _ She was also rescued from a nearby area after her owner, another factory, dumped her. We started by feeding her and after a few months, took her in as she was fighting with the other dogs. Initially, I was thinking of not neutering her due to her age and cost, but a friend advised me to do so for her health sake.
Please advise if I qualify for the neutering subsidy. It will greatly help me as I am feeding many mouths as well as some strays outside. I am also helping a friend foster some rescued puppies for adoption.
If this is approved, I plan to send them in within this two weeks before Daisy and Minnie come on heat. Once all my dogs are done, then i can focus on the strays outside my factory.
Sincerely,
Celia.
