Subject: Application for medical / vaccination subsidy
To: Chan Kah Yein <chankahyein@gmail.com>Hi Dr Chan,Two stray cats, one female and another male, both brother-sister, have been spayed/neutered today. Thankfully, the female cat was not pregnant. I will wait till next Monday for 2 more spaying of female cats (if they can be caught) before completing and posting the forms. I will take note of the 2 week deadline.

I now have 5 stray kittens and would like to apply for vaccination subsidy for 4 kittens and a medical subsidy for the treatment of eye infection for a kitten. However, I already took them to the vet today so can I still apply? I realized that the TNRM project was financially draining me because I did not anticipate that I would take in so many cats/kittens in one month.

I’ve also fine-tune the TNRM neighbourhood project to identify and work with established resident feeders who don’t have the resources to spay/neuter/rehome.

Thank you for your consideration.

Best regards,
Koo

Subject: Application for medical / vaccination subsidy
To: Chan Kah Yein <chankahyein@gmail.com>Hi Dr Chan,Firstly, thank you very much to AnimalCare for agreeing to provide neutering and medical subsidies for the stray cats/kittens as part of my neighbourhood TNRM program. While I could bear the cost of TNRMing my own back lane, my effort to expand throughout the neighborhood is straining my financial capability and I can’t sustain the effort on my own without the subsidies. I have posted the completed subsidy forms and original receipts. The following are the cases that I’m applying for:

1) Navy <pictures 01-03>
Navy was part of a 3-kitten litter by a stray cat that was in danger of being dumped by a maid at the instruction of her employer when she asked me to rescue them and spay the mother cat. They live in the backlane of the houses across mine. They were rescued on 21 March 2013 and once the kittens were weaned off their mother’s milk, the mother cat was spayed on 24 April 2013. The kittens were vaccinated on the same day. The first vaccinations and spaying were fully sponsored by me. Two kittens have been adopted. The remaining kitten, Navy was on trial adoption on 4 May 2013 but unfortunately, returned due to the past adopter’s worry of neglect from her heavy work schedule. Thus, I took Navy for his booster vaccination on 23 May 2013 and wish to apply for a subsidy.

2) Simba’s 3 kittens <pictures 03-07>
Another resident feeder asked for my help to spay Simba a stray mother cat and rehome her 3 kittens. I took them to the vet on 23 May 2013 to deworm Simba and vaccinate the 3 kittens. One of the kittens was adopted on 25 May 2013 while the other two is at Ohana for adoption. Thus, I would like to apply for a subsidy for the vet visit.

3) Simba <pictures 08-10>
On 23 May 2013, the vet inspected Simba and diagnosed her as ready to be spayed. As a result, an appointment as scheduled and she was spayed on 27 May 2013. Thankfully, she was not pregnant. Her ear is v-notched to denote her spayed status. Thus, I would like to apply for a subsidy for her spaying.

4) Isabel <pictures 11-13>
Isabel is a kitten rescued from a drain. I took her to the vet to be dewormed and checked for her excessive eye discharge on 11 May 2013. The vet prescribed Vetri-DMG to boost her immunity and use of a saline solution to clean her eyes. The cost was fully sponsored by me. Her eye discharge condition improved but not fully cured so I brought her back on 23 May 2013 and was prescribed with a medication. Thus, I would like to apply for a subsidy. Latest update: Isabel has been adopted on 31 May 2013!

5) Cheekie & PC <pictures 14-17>
The resident feeder has also asked me to help spay Cheekie and neuter PC. Both were about 6-8 months old and are siblings. They were spayed/neutered on 23 May 2013. Thankfully, Cheekie was also not pregnant and her ear has been v-notched too. Thus, I would like to apply for a subsidy.
