21st July, 2013

Dear Sis Chan,

Today’s morning, I received a call from the vet saying that Mae meow passed on peacefully during last night.
Thong-b or Mae meow is a female strayed cat at my place. She gave birth few rounds, some of her kittens died and some also survive. Life of a stray is uncertain and most importantly depends on human factor. Mae meow is very defensive in her own way and that contributes to the difficulty of getting her spayed.
She always waiting for her foods every late evening when I come back from works. All baby-sitters know that they have to provide foods for not only my indoor cats but also  for stray cats including Mae meow, whenever I am not around. Time flies…
In early June-2013, I noticed of her absence during feeding time and I firstly thought that she might give birth again. I went around the areas where she should be but there was no sign of her. Mid-June, My prayer was answered, Mae meow showed up one late evening during feeding time. I was stunt to see her appearance that looks so frail, and observed that she probably had a blunt trauma on her legs/body which I wouldn’t know the underlying causes. She was not allow me to be near her at all, she was very cautious.
My prayer was again answered but It was never crossed my mind that this would be our last meeting.
On 19th July-2013, I went back to my place after lunch taking Thong-dam to the vet. I suddenly saw Mae meow under my neighbor’s car, quickly got another carrier, called a security guard to capture her and then rushed to the vet. Her condition was grave prognosis, beyond my imagination. She had severe flu, left eye infection and right eye ulceration. In addition, she suffered from nerve impairment, abdominal distension and ultrasound showed accumulation of fluid in intestine and probably dead kitten in her womb. As plan, the vet gave all supportive treatment and if she recovered which might take days and then she would undergo surgery.
On 20th July-2013, I visited her and got a report from the vet, her condition was not shown any improvement. I did talk to her, pray and wish her well.
Any amount for this medical subsidy from AnimalCare will be donated to the medical fund “In Memory Of Mae meow—1st June, 2011 to 20th July, 2013”.
Thank you for the opportunity.
