Spaying, vaccination and medical subsidy for 3 Kota Raya cats (Margret Koay Khoon Hoon and Sumitra Siew Lai Ying’s)

We have subsidised RM200 for the two spaying procedures on the 2 female cats (the clinic did not charge for the male castration), RM60 for the 3 vaccinations and RM20 for the eye treatment. This subsidy comes from all donors through our Medical Fund (RM100) and Berjaya Cares (RM180).

Subject: APPLICATION FOR SUBSIDY & NEUTERING/SPAYING
Dear Dr Chan,
Several stray cats are being fed by a couple (hawkers selling fruits/drinks) behind the Kota Raya Shopping Mall.  The husband, Aun, collects leftover fish/meat, from  the ‘economy rice’ stall in Petaling Street for lunch, and also provide cat kibbles for breakfast.  LastWed, 11/7, during my visit, I saw that one of the male cat about 2 yrs old (Kota) was badly injured in his right eye. The next day, his eye appeared to be worse than before although Aun cleansed with a towel.   I thought he should see a vet in case he became blind but I had to return to work and did not have transportation.  I was frantic but it was a blessing as managed to contact Sis Sumitra who offered to lend her carrier and a friend, Bro Chee Wai had agreed to fetch Sis Sumi and Kota to the vet.
Sis Sumi shared that whilst trying to put Kota into the carrier, another female (Raya) walked in on her own accord and they managed to put Kota in as well. As such, she thought it was a good thing as we could get Kota neutered and Raya spayed.
Yesterday, 18/7, Sis Agnes kindly provided transportation to collect the 2 cats from the vet at Kuchai Lama.  I had asked my whole office colleagues and friends whether they wished to adopt (to no avail).  Kota may have felt traumatized, being held captive as he appeared aggressive/due to fear.  Sis Sumi had offered to foster until a home is found but in view of that, we thought he may be happier if set free (being a seasoned city dweller).
This is my first attempt at rescuing strays for treatment and would like to apply for subsidy for whatever is allowed – medical fee & castration.
Dr Chan, I have read the terms and conditions but there is a little hitch. As Sis Sumi had sent the cats, to the vet, which were registered in her name, the receipts were made in her name although I had paid with my credit card.   (I can send you the proof)  Also, as the vet offered to charge for spaying 2 females and 1 foc for a male (Kota), when we released him yesterday, we sent another female (Meow Meow – also Kota Raya resident) for spaying.  Hope she can be spayed today and released by Mon or Tue next week.  I have registered Meow Meow in my name but will need Sis Sumi to pay the fees on my behalf and collect when ready for release.  Next week, I will be very busy (due to auditors in the office) and have to rely on Sis Sumi and Sis Agnes to help me as I cannot find anybody else.
Naturally, I will complete the necessary forms and send all original receipts to you when Meow Meow is fit to be released.  Sis Sumi will provide the photographs that she had taken as I do not own a camera.  I have also noted the timeline of within 2 weeks but can I do this in one go i.e. submit forms and receipts (receipts for  Kota, Raya currently with me ) when the bill/receipt for Meow Meow is available next week.
I am not sure if this is ok but I guess it will help create awareness and ease my financial constraints as my original concern was just to treat Kota’s sore eye (probably due to a fight – for survival?).
I shall be pleased to receive your kind guidance and advice on this.   (I will not be applying for financial assistance from elsewhere).   Thank you.
May you be Well and Happy, always.
Regards,
Margret K H Koay
