These are some of the community animals looked after by Dawn Tan and Serene Lai whom we’ve had the privilege of helping in 2011 and 2012. Really happy to know that they are well and happy living in the community.

Please find some updates and photos as enclosed. I had found out the meaning of their Nepalese names 🙂Katrouk (brown dog) – We had named her Stone before the Nepalese guards re-named her to Katrouk (in Nepalese meaning ‘a gift for the priest when someone dies) http://animalcare.my/2011/08/22/two-community-dogs- spayed/ Gori (white dog) – Gori in Nepalese, means ‘pure/white’ http://animalcare.my/2012/06/07/spaying-subsidy-for- gori-female-dog-dawn-tan-ju- hongs/ Gori had been taking unfortunate trips with dog catchers again. The 3rd time we redeemed her, she came back with a present for Katrouk – distemper (sigh…) In less than 2 weeks, both dogs were half alive, paddings hardened, white eyes turned red and all. Drove them to the clinic, got them jabs, pumped them with antibiotics, vetri dmg, chicken essence and human grade can food daily for 2 weeks.They survived! 😀August (the cat) – Still hates playing with Katrouk cos the later is very rough.Photos:
01 – I told the dogs to wait, while I fed August first.02 – Annoyingly, they wouldn’t listen. It wasn’t that they were hungry, they just have to disturb August eating every single time.03&04- So I removed the food.05 – And put August and his food on the pillar to eat peacefully, while I play with the dogs 🙂Thanks! 😀
