Medical subsidy for Bambie, rescued cat (Marina Mustapha’s)

This is a follow-up treatment for Bambie. The bill is RM30 and we have subsidised RM15 for it. This subsidy comes from all donors through our Medical Fund.

For Bambie’s first bill, Marina applied to PetFinder.my. PetFinder.my confirms that they will be subsidising RM84 for that bill of RM167. 50.

Dear Dr Chan,

I found a kitten near my parking area with skin injuries (skin burned with PUS).

I rescued him 19th Aug 2013 around 8.30pm. I initially did not see his injuries due to his fur.

During feeding time & he is friendly kitten, I stroked him.

When I looked closely, I saw a red patches on his body.

Attached pictures of him at the vet that can explain his injuries much better. This is only upper body view.

He also sustained some injuries lower body.Vet suspected he has been poured by hot water / oil.

I do not know how a person can be so sick that he/she feels it is ok to hurt an innocent animal.

I am really upset with certain people with this kind of mentality!

I only managed to take him at the vet today since vet closed at the time I rescued him the night before.

He is now hospitalized from 20 Aug 2013. Vet needs to clear the pus & clean/treat his skin accordingly.

I have requested vet to inform me asap once he can be discharged.

I have written to Petfinder to seek for medical fund subsidy.

Hope they will approve my application. If they are not able too, can Animalcare organisation help me on the medical subsidy as per policy?

Thank you.

Regards,

Marina Mustapha

Dear Dr Chan,
Petfinder has agreed on the medical fund application.
Just to update that I have discharged Bambie today with vet’s consent. Estimation min RM250 earlier due to 3/4 days hospitalisation.

But he may needs further treatments or follow ups if necessary. Can I claim from Animalcare for follow ups?

Attached further pictures after discharged today.

Thanks

Marina

Dear Dr Chan,

I took Bambie for follow up since I saw his tendon at his tail exposed (open skin).

Concern if further treatment needed other than cleaning wound is required.

I’m sure Bambie is in pain but he never show me that he is except sweet & loving gestures towards me.

Vet helped to check, cleared his wound & removed all dead skin. I dare not remove dead skin on own incase it can cause further infection. Vet informed that from abdomen to the neck, wound heal nicely. But abdomen to the tail needs more time especially towards tail.

Can I claim medical subsidy as per policy ?

Will send the original receipt together with Polkadot in a different form of course.

Attached latest pictures & copy of receipt.

Thank you.

Regards,

Marina

Hi Dr Chan,
The hospitalisation bill (first time treatment) =RM167.50. Copy of receipts as attached.
Petfinder will subsidise RM84.00. Yet to receive the subsidy since donation appeal for the requested yet to be collected.
Yes correct, for follow up bill I only claim from Animalcare.
Thank you & regards,
Marina
