Lady’s bill is RM300 for the surgery. We have subsidised RM150 for it. This subsidy comes from all donors through our Medical Fund (RM50) and Berjaya Cares (RM100).

Subject: Subsidy for Lady with the biggest hernia ever
To: Chan Kah Yein <chankahyein@gmail.com>hi Dr ChanI would like to seek medical subsidy for this dog, which we named Lady. I got a shock when i first saw her on July 21 in Puchong Jaya. She was very friendly and obviously was somebody’s pet before as she was calm and keep giving us her hand/paw. I rescued her and took her to see a vet on the same day. He believed it was hernia. I consulted a second vet who was unsure. Later on took her to a third vet for X-ray and confirmed it was hernia with her intestines all fallen into the pouch below her belly. All the vets agreed that this was the biggest hernia they have come across, very rare. After consultation, we have decided to operate to fix the hernia and push the intestine back into place and spay her at the same time. If we don’t do the surgery, the risk is that the intestines could get twisted or if her pouch burst, it will be complicate and she cant be spayed. It will not be an easy surgery but we are praying she will pull through. All in, it can cost anywhere between RM400-RM800, hopefully not more. Currently she is in a foster home. She is extremely well behaved and keeps away from other dogs, hence we named her Lady. Please advise.ThanksEileen Ng Ai LingFrom: Eileen Ng
