We have subsidised RM50 for the vaccinations of Cougar the Cat (1st vaccination) and Sundog (2nd vaccination, a follow-up).

And here’s Cougar’s submission.Cougar’s story: Alina and I found him in a residential neighbourhood, thin and starving. On closer look, we saw a part of his chin had been torn off (vet said he had been abused or maybe he hurt himself trying to eat from a open tin can). We rushed him to the vet and got him stitched up. Iniitally, we boarded him hoping that we could find someone to take him and because we already have two cats. Then we found out he was FIV positive so it was clear to us it would be very hard to re-home him. And so we brought him back (he was quarantined to separate him from our other cats). Two days later, however, he came down with parvo. Everyone, including the vet, thought it would be the end of him, but Cougar valiantly fought for his life. He fought so hard, we decided to help him live. Every two days, we took him to the vet to give him his doses of immune booster, anti-viral medication, antibiotics etc, not to mention drips (he as throwing up blood). Even though he was finally pronounced recovered, he went on to experience intermittent bouts of fever so we still keep him indoors. Yesterday, after so many weeks, he weighed close to 4kg (near his target weight) so the vet said it would be OK to finally vaccinate him. So far so good….
