Subject: Request for AnimalCare Neutering Aid
To: “chankahyein@gmail.com” <chankahyein@gmail.com>Dear Chan Kah Yein,
Please find attached completed form for AnimalCare Neutering Aid, receipt for the neutering of a female stray cat, and picture of the cat before and after the surgery (top left picture – before surgery, bottom left and top right – very soon after the surgery, bottom right – the spot where the surgery was done).
I live in at Oakleaf condo and I recently saw a white/yellow stray female cat in one of the stairwells. My husband and I named her Julie. Residents seem to be feeding Julie plus other stray cats. I suspect her owner lives in one of the apartments here. I know from talking to cat owners that many let their cats out at night and then retrieve them in the mornings. However, some cats enjoy the freedom of the outside and so at some point decide not to go back home unless very hungry. So I suspect Julie is in this category.
My husband and I have spayed 8 previous stray female cats in the last three years which we noticed wandering around. Their names are Ginger, Spot, Messi, Little Mess, Pointy, Gruff, Whitey, and Lady. Our motive is compassion for these cats. We also feel it is best for the residents of Oakleaf Park not to have dozens of cats running around the carparks and stairwells of OPC. Most of the cats that we spayed are still around and looking healthy. Other residents of OPC feed them regularly. We check these stray cats from time to time for ear mites, fleas, mange, bladder infection (if the cat squats a lot and the urine is bloody), and injuries. We give medical treatment to each cat when we notice any ailment.
For Julie we will keep an eye on her and treat her for any ailments if and when we notice any. We keep one stray cat (Bat-bat) in our apartment but we don’t plan keeping any more. My husband found Bat-bat in a deep drain just outside the front entrance of the Giant supermarket in Antarabangsa – just beside the Petronas. We had another cat (Peaches) who died of jaundice one month ago.
I suspect Julie’s owner is aware of her presence on the outside and is happy to leave her there. We will post a picture of Julie on a Whats-Up specific to OPC to see if anyone claims her. We have done this before though with the other cats, but with no avail.
Best wishes, from Ivy and Lou.
