  • Bunny’s “pimples”

It’s been a week since I brought Bunny to see the vet regarding those two “pimples” on his chin. My worry was it might be sporotrichosis. The “pimples” had not got any better. In fact, it seemed to have got a bit worse. The vet last week said to start on Itranonazole (just in case…

  • Is Vincent starting afresh?

Last night we had another power outage that lasted quite long, so everywhere was in darkness. I went out to look for Vincent, but could not find him anywhere. This morning, Vincent came back to the patio for breakfast! However, he was just too scared (yes, Ginger intimidated him, but we stopped him). He ate…

  • Vincent comes back for breakfast on his own!!

Yesterday evening, we had to go look for Vincent. After calling for him many, many times, we finally found him in the porch of the house next door (no one was home at the time). He just looked at us and refused to come back. Later on, after it was dark and with much coaxing,…

  • Another animal communicator

Pooi Ling shared this: https://www.facebook.com/Breathetoconnect/ Very often, owners who have lost their pets seek out animal communicators to help locate their pets. I have done that too, out of total desperation, in the past – once for Ginger when he went missing (the information I got was accurate, actually), for Pole when we first moved here…

  • Brainworms

Yikes! Be forewarned – the infection can be found in dogs and cats as well as pigs! 1.5 metres long!!  Yikes!!! The story and the icky photos: http://www.davidwolfe.com/food-brain-worms/ The infection caused by Spirometra Erinaceieuropaei is known as sparganosis and often originates in cats and dogs, where the worm can grow to a terrifying length of 1.5 metres.…

  • Cow Mau’s eye

So we found blood streaming down from Cow’s left eye last night after his big fight with Cleo. This morning, Cow seems much better already. There is just some tearing. Hopefully all will be well. Right now, a visit to the vet seems unwarranted. We’ll monitor his condition throughout the day. Cow Mau thanks all…

  • Vincent’s breakfast

Vincent did not appear for breakfast at 7am today. No one really looked for Vincent except Heidi. She didn’t eat first; she went out to the porch to look for Vincent, then only came back to eat. Good girl, Heidi. You’re the best! But Vincent did not come… I suspect Vincent is not happy with Zurik…

  • Another big fight

I was in the room with the inside cats all evening until just a few minutes ago when the weather was just too humid and I decided to take a bath. Just as I was taking the bath, I heard a cat fight. Oh oh… I shouted from the bathroom for help to stop the…

  • A wonderful surprise from Penang!

This afternoon, we received a package, couriered from Penang.  There was no name of sender except for a company name. When I opened the package, it was three pieces of cloth! And what lovely designs too – an enchanted castle, the Jungle Book and duck-frog-bee designs! Large pieces too. I thought they were from Ms…

  • Vincent comes back for supper again

Vincent came for breakfast this morning, but didn’t want wetfood. He only wanted kibbles. Then, as usual, he went off and did not turn up for lunch. I went to look for him in the evening, but he was not around. Also, Zurik was in the house. I have a feeling Vincent does not want…

  • Once in a while, the sky lights up

We received this extremely heart-warming email from Dayang, a former undergraduate who has claimed before, for the neutering of 15 cats, from an interior village, Song, in Sarawak. Song is a 2-hour boat ride from Sibu where the nearest vet is located and Dayang used to ferry cats from Song to Sibu and back. Thank you very…
