  • Rosie’s PCV dropped (Day 13) – not good

It’s not good news. Rosie’s PCV (packed cell volume) dropped from 51% (17th Feb) to 27% today (2nd March). This means her liver isn’t making blood. The borderline for normal is 28%. Update: Rosie’s other vet’s opinion on the PCV.  51% shows dehydration on 17th Feb. For normal cats, it should be around 35% or so.…

  • Rosie’s morning and last night’s supper (Day 13)

Rosie didn’t have a good day yesterday. I’d like to think it was due to the fact that she hadn’t defecated in a few days and that she was given the Lactulose. But finally, thank goodness, she did defecate by late afternoon. However, she didn’t want food and had to be force-fed, even after defecating.…

Rosie had not defecated for a few days now. I didn’t want her to rely on Lactulose, but it looks like we have no choice, so I gave her 5ml this morning. According to Jia-Wen (who was home), she was very quiet the whole morning. When I got back, she was fast asleep. Soon, I let…

  • Rosie (Day 12, morning)

As expected, Rosie didn’t want Go! Chicken anymore today. I got up and steamed ikan bilis tembaga (anchovies which are larger than the usual ikan bilis), thinking that the aroma might entice her to eat. Rosie sniffed at it (ikan bilis tembaga plus home-cooked chicken), wanted to eat, but decided not to. So I offered…
