This is the second time neutering a cat for me. His name is Cheetah, and this one is the closest and most “manja” with me.
About Cheetah:
Cheetah came to our house probably around February this year. He is the only cat we rescued that is not at kitten age when we took him in (must have been 3 months old at least). And he is the only one I allow to roam free in and out of the house because if his mild temperament and child friendly behaviour.
One thing about Cheetah is this cat is very needy and clingy. He need to spend 2 to 3 hours being petted and hugged on the sofa in front of the tv every day. And I need to sit next to him and pet him when he take his meals.
But the good thing about Cheetah is that when we rescued two female kittens few months ago, he became their foster mother and guard their safety when they play outside (we let the kittens out in the next door garden every afternoon. Cheetah would retrieve them if they ventured to far, and will fend off other male strays that try to attack the kittens.
The sad thing was las week my wife saw Cheetah attempted to mate with the kittens. He ended up trying to sodomize them and the kittens end up with bruised behind. So we immediately quarantined him in a cage for 3 days (waiting for weekend, and vet appointment must be 3 day prior) and then took him to the vet for the operation.
Cheetah recovered well, but have been losing weight, He refused to eat since I quarantined him in the cage 3 days before the ops. The night before the operation I had to spoon-fed him so that he can survive the 24 hours fasting. After he fully recovered, I “belanja” wet food (the expensive one, Friskies) for all 6 cats under our care. Cheetah still won’t eat. To date he would only eat a bit of dry food every day. This evening I will release him into the alleyway behind my house, I know he don’t like being locked up for almost a week.
I don’t think I will ever lose Cheetah. He always come back home, every night. But we keep him behind the house, I can’t let any cats sleep indoors until my baby grand-daughter is at least 2 or 3 yrs old.
I promise you that I’m seeking this aid because I need to. One day when things get better for me career wise, I will self-finance my TNRM activities.
