Neutering aid for 1 cat in Johor Bahru (Rachel Puen Chui Wen’s)

We have fully sponsored RM80 for the neutering of this cat, Luno.

Ms Rachel Puen is a new applicant.

My name is Rachel and I adopted a black male kitten that I found near my rented apartment in Johor Bahru back in October 2021. I have named him Luno because I found him wandering near the bushes near my apartment on a full moon night before he walked up to me. I checked the environment and did not find any other cats nor was his mum in sight.
Ever since then, Luno has been living indoors with me in my apartment. He’s been the sweetest addition to my life. I am planning to keep him long-term and I consider him my family member. I decided to get him neutered recently because our friend advised us saying that it’ll be beneficial for Luno’s growth and health as an adult cat to go through this neutering process. Luno’s neutering op was on the 3/3/2022 and he’s recovering well now 🙂
I do not plan to have any other cats apart from Luno and I will continue to look after him for the rest of his life.
An updated write-up from Ms Puen, shared on 16th Nov 2023:

I’m Rachel and I’ve always wanted a feline companion, but the thought of buying a pet never sat right with me. Pet stores were tempting, but it felt like an injustice to buy a living creature. Then, one fateful night in 2022, a little black malnourished and thin kitten trotted up to me during a walk. The cutie was glued to my side, and it was like he chose me to be his hooman! I checked for any signs of its mother or siblings, but it was all alone. Feeling sorry for the little one, I welcomed it into my home and named him Luno. He’s been living indoors with me ever since, and he’s brought nothing but joy to my life.

Fast forward a few months, after Luno has been vaccinated and reached a healthy weight, Luno started acting peculiar where he would sit in the toilet and meow loudly. Being a first time cat owner, I was unsure why Luno was doing that until my friend (who has furry buddies at home) pointed out that he might be crying for a mate and suggested I get him neutered. I was a bit worried, but I did some research and came across ‘My Animal Care’ website which gave me the information on the importance of neutering, the procedure and also how to care for the cat before/ after neutering. This really helped a lot for a first time feline owner. My Animal care even has a ‘Neutering Aid’ program that helps street animal caregivers with financial aid for neutering street animals! Hence, I decided to go for it. The vet did a great job and Luno’s op went off without a hitch on 3/3/2022, and he’s doing great. The liaising process to apply and receive the neutering aid was also very smooth and direct with Dr Chan who was very prompt in responding! Save a life from wondering in the streets, having a furry companion is not just for a moment of time, but a lifetime commitment to a life.
