In view of the very significant rising costs of food prices, including petfood, from this month onwards, we started a new project of extending our Food Aid to more shelters. Shelter animals are confined within the shelter and they cannot hunt for food, hence, shelter operators have to ensure their animals have sufficient food besides taking care of the animals’ medical/veterinary needs, the rental of land (if applicable), utilities and workers’ salary, room and board. Times are bad now with inflation on the rise.
We have also provided the last batch of petfood to MunMun Furry Sanctuary on 3rd July 2020, with enough catfood to last for two months (including the balance from previous months). His dogs eat homecooked food. We have been providing petfood to MunMun’s since February 2018 on a regular basis. Since the end of June this year, we have paid a few visits to the sanctuary and have had discussions with his team. They have now already found their own means of sourcing for petfood. Our best wishes go to their team and their animals. May the animals be well-looked after.
We hope that there will be more neutering claims now that we have moved into the endemic period. Our primary objective has always been to help in the neutering of street animals through One-Street CNRM which we believe is the more sustainable and compassionate means of population control of street animals.
