The petfood:
As always, we thank Avant Pet for the free delivery and also their very dedicated service even during this busy pre-CNY period. They rushed this order for us so that the dogs can have new food for Chinese New Year! We also understand that Mr Lee’s vegetable stall would have to close for about a week during the holidays and this would affect his finances very significantly.

Mr Lee is a vegetable seller at the wet market who has been rescuing dogs for the last 6 years. He is currently looking after 43 dogs in two locations: a home-converted shelter and an unused factory lot. A few days ago, two of the younger dogs were rehomed.
Prior to this, five of his dogs were given veterinary care. Three had fever and have now recovered. One had a skin issue and is being treated. One passed away due to old age.
We have emphasised to Mr Lee the importance of assigning his son to look after the dogs should he be unable to. He understands this. Mr Lee has also realised that he should not take in anymore dogs due to the instability of his vegetable selling business.
We have advised Mr Lee to give the new food gradually and in small amounts to his dogs since they have been eating his home-prepared food before this. All food transition must be done gradually.
